Types of Scholarships:
Scholarship of Excellence
- Scholarship of Excellence – Brampton $1000
- Scholarship of Excellence -Toronto $1000
*Limited number of scholarships available for each campus
You can apply for a Scholarship of Excellence if you:
- Have an overall GPA of 3.5 – 3.9
*Applicants who meet the requirements will have names entered in a raffle draw to choose the recipient.
Scholarship of Distinction
- Scholarship of Distinction – Brampton $2000
- Scholarship of Distinction – Toronto $2000

You can apply for a Scholarship of Distinction if you:
- Have an overall GPA of 4.0
*Applicants who meet the requirements will have names entered in a raffle draw to choose the recipient.

Humanitarian Scholarship
- Brampton and Toronto joint campus scholarship of $2000
- The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- The applicant must be a part of the Hanson’s Community involvement (Peer mentor, student volunteer, student ambassador, or student council)
- The applicant must prove community involvement/volunteer experience
- Provide supporting documentation (documents below should be attached to the scholarship application)
1. Minimum 2 reference letters from community involvement or volunteer organization with contact info, dates, total hours, and duties/responsibilities or/and a Reference letter from Hanson staff describing volunteer engagement with the college.
2. A 450 – 500 word essay on “Why are you passionate about helping others.”

The following are basic rules governing all Scholarships granted by Hanson. The scholarship(s) that may be awarded to the eligible winner(s) are not transferable, or exchangeable. Students cannot receive the same scholarship twice, while enrolled with Hanson. Applicants must provide valid and accurate contact information. If a scholarship winner cannot be contacted or is disqualified for any reason, Hanson reserves the right to determine an alternate winner or not to award that winner’s prize, in its sole discretion. Scholarship raffle draw to select a winner will be live and recorded. The winner of the Humanitarian Scholarship will be selected by the Scholarship Committee. By participating the winners give Hanson permission to use their names, photographs, voices, videotape, and likenesses in connection with promotion and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use.
By participating, applicants are bound by the decisions of Company personnel. Persons who violate any rule, gain unfair advantage in participating in the contest, or obtain winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified. Unsportsmanlike, disruptive, annoying, harassing or threatening behavior is prohibited. Hanson reserves the right to terminate or make other decisions regarding the outcome as management deems appropriate, all decisions made are final.
Scholarship Guidelines
Scholarship of Distinction $2,000 | Scholarship of Excellence $1000 | Humanitarian Scholarship $2000 Scholarships range from $1000 to $2,000 and will be awarded to eligible Hanson students.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Hanson students must complete the form and submit it to scholarshipsont@hansoncollege.com. In the application email, the subject line must indicate whether the campus being applied to is Brampton or Toronto. Scholarship application forms can be submitted starting on Week 11 and the deadline for submissions is Week 14.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Scholarships will be awarded to the selected Hanson students who are currently registered. Please note that graduating students (in the last semester for their program of study) are NOT ELIGIBLE to participate. *This exception does not apply to MOBH/MOHP students.

This scholarship is awarded to students who have shown a GPA for 3.5-3.9 for the current semester; selection for the raffle draw to decide winner(s) will include all applicants who meet the criteria, excluding those who have previously received this award.
The scholarship is awarded to students who have shown a GPA of 4.0 for the current semester; selection for the raffle draw to decide winner(s) will include all applicants who meet the criteria, excluding those who have previously received this award.
This scholarship is awarded by careful consideration of the Scholarship Committee to a student who proves to be an integral part of their local and Hanson community, while also maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher; excluding those who have previously received this award.

- Complete a Hanson Scholarship Application Form (www.canadahanson.com). Incomplete Forms will not be considered.
- ONLY Humanitarian scholarship applicants attach 450 – 500 word essay (See section B on application form for details)
- ONLY Humanitarian scholarship applicants provide TWO reference letters (See section C on application form for details)
- Submit your completed Hanson Scholarship Application Form (with supporting documents if required) to scholarshipont@canadahanson.com with your campus indicated in the email subject line. Strict application deadlines will be observed. The deadline for submission is Week 14.
